My books address the issue of racial and gender inequality. It address the fact that African Americans girls begun facing racism and sexism from birth and how it affect their outlook on life. How it hinders everything in theirs. How historically they have been expected to take on adult roles while still a child.
The comment means that a girl child will face more obstacles in life than a male child.
